Sponsored run fundraiser
Youth work project manager Graeme Johnston completed a sponsored run to raise funds for the new purpose-built AYF facility on Wednesday 28th September 2011.
Starting at the Glenartney hotel in Brodick, he ran the 3 mile cycle path to Lamlash, through the village of Lamlash to the youth cabins next to the high school, where he met Liz and Nikki from Community Learning & Development for a quick photo!
He then took the steep uphill path at the back of Benlister Road, joining the path back to Brodick passing Meall Buidhe and going through the forest before coming out at Glen Cloy and the Auchrannie.
Graeme said: "The route ended up being tougher and longer than I had thought, and managed to be uphill not only from Brodick to Lamlash, but also on the route back!
"I'll be gathering in sponsorship over the month of October, but it looks like it's raised roughly £250. Every penny towards the new dedicated youth centre in Brodick is a great help so I really appreciate the donations made by all involved. Thanks a lot."
