Wednesday after-school club
Arran Youth Foundations are to launch a new after-school film-making club on a Wednesday afternoon - and young people who attend are in with a chance of winning a £50 cash prize, thanks to the generosity of the Auchrannie!
The group, who already run successful Friday night activities in Brodick church hall, are expanding to meet demand, and Youth Work Project Manager Graeme Johnston hopes for a good turnout for the first session on Wednesday, 1st February 2012, between 16.30-18.30 at the church hall.
"We bought the young people a video camera a few months back and we've had great fun mucking about with it, but I thought it was time we used it with a bit more purpose. I've set them a challenge of getting into small teams and making a short film about Arran. The Auchrannie have very kindly offered a £50 prize to the team who come up with the best entry, so we are incredibly grateful to them for that.
"All the usual suspects will be coming along but I really want to emphasise that anyone is welcome. Any high school pupil is welcome, even if they've never been to the Friday group before. Just pop in on a Wednesday afternoon - we'll be putting some burgers on too, so don't worry about missing your dinner!"
