Term-time programme for 2024-25
21 Aug 2024
As schools across North Ayrshire reopened yesterday, so did Arran Youth Foundations - kickstarting its term-time programme for the school year 24/25.
The youth centre was open at lunchtime, as it will be every school day. After school, young people dropped in for Tuesday club - a jam in the music room, and board & card games.
Mondays will see the return of after-school girls football, while the youth centre will also be open for cooking or whatever other activities the young folk want. Music lessons with Steve Agnew will also be on as normal.
Free healthy food - fruit, soup, smoothies, yoghurts etc - will continue to be available to young people every day.
Wednesdays will see the centre continue to open for art therapy with Shona Redmayne. This will be a fun opportunity to get creative and discuss your feelings.
Thursdays see another session of after-school girls football, as well as our popular P7 Club, now in its third year.
Last but not least are Fridays - with our weekly youth club the staple of what AYF does.
All of this follows a very successful summer 2024 programme, which saw the group visit Alton Towers at the start of July. Over the summer, they then enjoyed crazy golf, ice creams, alpaca treks, making their own pizzas, kayaking, gorge-walking, segway rides, archery, a trip on the Mogabout, a hike up Goatfell, a water fight, barbecue, goalkeeping and striking coaching, a walk over Holy Isle, escape rooms and a visit to the cinema.
